Largest biomedical event in Asia concludes after 4 days of high level intellectual exchange and networking Singapore, 18 April 2008 - A record 1,200 visitors and participants attended Biomedical Asia 2008 from 14-17 April at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre. The event included over 600 delegates and 200 speakers, including over 30 venture capitalists with a combined fund value of more than US$12 billion. During the opening plenary, the three keynote speakers - Mr Gordon Binder of Coastview Capital, Professor Philippe Kourilsky of College de France and Dr Ansbert Gadicke of MPM Capital, discussed several topics during their keynote addresses. These included market trends and drivers of the biomedical industry and crystal balling future growth, emerging biomedical innovation from Asia and its impact, as well as the evolution of the global biotech capital market and how Asia fits into the equation. In addition to the six main conferences, seven industry summits and masterclasses, and event exhibition, delegates also had a chance to view the state-of-the-art Biopolis, Singapore's flagship biohub.
